"My impression was, he's walking as though he's made of glass, and if you should touch him he would just shatter apart.

I don't know if it was an act or what, but it sure was effective."

-Robert Ripley

Brady is lover, actor, music-maker, rhythm rider, climber, enthusiast of the whimsical and prickly.

Raised smack in the middle of Maryland, encouragement from family and Howard County arts programs lead the path toward creative-personing, the craft furthered and fine-tuned at Syracuse University’s School of Drama, where he earned a BFA in Acting. While there, sampling tastes of living in NYC and LA, marinating in primordial ooze of devising and performing original work, making movies, co-hosting a radio show, and growing alongside fellow artists. The move to New York City came shortly after, a time marked by Off-Off Broadway gigs, art pieces, short films, fine Indian cuisine, sparkly friends and ecstatic flailing.

“…a veritable gymnast on the stage, leaping like a gazelle, then, as Lucy, rolling on his back and scratching his [OMITTED] endlessly, eliciting howls of mirth from the children present.”

for The Man in The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane

“As Harker, the talented physical comedian Brady Dalton Richards is Dracula’s polar opposite, a milquetoasty coward.”

for Jonathan Harker in Dracular; A Comedy of Terrors

“…mesmerizes...You admire and despise him at the same time..."

for Stephen in Line

“…impressive is that both actors have created new takes on established performers - no carbon copying here…these two carry the weight of most of the play on their backs, and it couldn't be in better hands. Watch for these fine actors in the years to come.”

~ for Scorpius Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

"...amazingly talented young cast—with Brady Richards completely embodying the essence of the iconic Kerouac."

for Jack Kerouac in Beatniks

"Richards is the show’s intellectual bad boy…struts and carries a sharp wit perhaps the equal of an adolescent Oscar Wilde or Voltaire… (his) pronounced voice and depiction of Melchior’s burning insecurities transforms a simple know-it-all into a rebellious everyman."

for Melchior Gabor in Spring Awakening

Shipped out to Los Angeles at the dawn of ‘18 with hopes to launch into the film and TV machine, performing in student films, a Lifetime Channel murder movie, even more theatre than they’d hoped for, and assisting the birth of the West Coast’s branch of euphoric silent disco magic What The Float. Most wildly privileged to hop into a beautifully realized, queer joy-laden, sadly shelved pilot for The CW, what later became Netflix’s ‘Glamorous’.

A larger curveball hurtled down the pipeline, and life called to pack up again, leaping back east to NYC in January 2020, beginning rehearsal on their Broadway debut with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child playing Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy. A fantasy, a surreal awakening, the break through at last??

A certain historical event took that opportunity on a winding, anxiety-ridden, and strangely poetic path of perseverance, and finally, nearly two years later, we stormed back, delivering the 2.0 leaner, meaner, queenier iteration. Embodying that story of love and friendship as a visibly queer person has been the high honor of my life thus far, and no way I’d be anywhere near without the influence of those I’ve been fortunate to vibrate with along the way.

Hoping for the opportunity to make or experience something awe-inspiring with whomever may have read along.

speed and purpose,

BDR
